Fall Sports season is here! Here is a look at the upcoming teams in action.

Football will open the season at home on Friday, August 21 against Burroughs/Burbank HS. The Spartans will have a new home in the Ocean League, where they open play against Beverly Hills at home on October 9 for our annual Homecoming Game.

Flag Football will open the season at home on Wednesday, August 19 in a non-league contest with cross-town Bishop Montgomery. The team jumps right into Pioneer League action the following week, visiting West HS on August 25 and returning home to take on Wiseburn DaVinci HS on August 27 at 6pm.

Girls Volleyball, after three consecutive Pioneer League championships, will move up to the highly competitive Bay League. The Spartans ended last season with an impressive record of 25-10, qualifying for the CIF-SS Playoffs. This year they open the SHS Athletics season in the Lakewood Tournament on Saturday, August 8th and will play their first home game against Bellflower on Tuesday, August 25th.

Girls Tennis moves from the Bay League back to the Pioneer League where they won 11 consecutive league championships from 2012-2022. The Spartans open the season at home on Tuesday, September 1 against Bishop Montgomery. Six of the first seven games are at home for South Tennis.

Boys Water Polo kicks off their season hosting their 3rd Annual Spartan Cup Tournament at the Mannon TUSD Aquatic Center on Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22. South opens Pioneer League play on Tuesday, September 29 against Torrance and Thursday, October 1 against West.

Girls Golf tees off in the Torrance Cup two-day tournament to open the 2026 season in early September. The Spartans then swing into Bay League action on September 22 at Rolling Hills Country Club to take on Peninsula, followed by a second matchup on September 24 back at Los Verdes Golf Course.

Cross Country hits the ground running on Saturday, August 22 at the Redondo Cross Country Relays to open the 2026 season. The team will prepare for their first Pioneer League meet on October 6, with League Finals following on November 5.
